Dr. Rahil Moriswala attained a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from University of Queensland in 2013. His desire to travel across the Australian landscapes and gain diverse clinical experiences took him to Perth, Sunshine Coast, Melbourne and even as far north as Townsville.
He completed physician training through Western Health, Melbourne in 2018, with ICU & Cardiology experience at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Following his advanced Cardiology training in 2022, Rahil completed fellowships in Interventional Cardiology at Townsville University Hospital (2023) and Advanced Cardiac Imaging at Flinders Medical Centre (2024). He gained invaluable clinical experience in managing complex valvular heart disease during his years in North Queensland.
Currently, he maintains a research role at Flinders Medical Centre, and under Prof. Selvanayagam’s guidance participates in multiple international therapeutic trials for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and Cardiac Amyloidosis.
His expertise lies in a broad range of cardiovascular conditions, with a particular focus on advanced cardiac imaging techniques, including the use of cardiac CT & MRI to better understand complex heart conditions and tailor treatment strategies to his patients.
Rahil believes in a person-centered approach to care with a strong emphasis on effective communication and patient education. By providing clear explanations and addressing concerns, he ensures that his patients feel heard and supported.
He is passionate about Preventative Cardiology and managing risk factors with a holistic approach – acknowledging the physical, emotional, and social aspects of health. Over the years, he has had the privilege of working alongside some of the most respected senior cardiologists in the field, whose mentorship and guidance have significantly shaped his clinical approach.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys a variety of hobbies that help him unwind and recharge. He has a passion for woodworking and enjoys hiking & exploring nature, often accompanied by his dog.
