Professor Ganesan graduated with Honours in Medicine from the University of Sydney in 2000 and earned a PhD from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland, USA, 2006.
Anand settled in Adelaide in 2011 to complete his postdoctoral Fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Adelaide and Royal Adelaide Hospital. He was appointed as a clinical academic Cardiologist at Flinders University and Flinders Medical Centre in 2016.
Professor Ganesan is a clinician-scientist at Flinders University and Flinders Medical Centre. He a strong interest in the management of heart rhythm disorders, particular the investigation and treatment of atrial fibrillation.
Anand leads an innovative research team in heart rhythm disorders, with a particular focus on the mechanisms of atrial fibrillation. Anand’s team uses advanced approaches from the fields of complex systems science, biomedical engineering, and physics, in combination with clinical electrophysiology to develop novel approaches to the investigation and treatment of heart rhythm conditions.
