Joseph Selvanayagam

Professor Selvanayagam was educated in Adelaide and Oxford.

He graduated with first class Honours from the University of Adelaide in 1995, completing his basic physician training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and his Cardiology training at Flinders Medical Centre.

He was admitted as a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP, Cardiology) in 2002.  His doctoral (DPhil) and post-doctoral work was performed at Oxford University, 2002-2007.

Joseph is an internationally recognised authority in Cardiac Imaging (Cardiac MRI, Cardiac CT and Echocardiography).  He is SCMR Level 3 board certified in Cardiac MRI and Australian conjoint committee Level A certified in Cardiac CT.

He currently holds the Chair of Cardiovascular Medicine at Flinders University and is a Senior Clinical Cardiologist at Flinders Medical Centre, where he is the Director of Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging.  He is the Director of Cardiac Research and Clinical trials at Flinders, and the current Chairman of Heart & Vascular private partnership.
