Device Home Monitoring
Many implanted devices can be monitored remotely in your home to check function or detect abnormalities outside of your usual device check visit schedule.
What is it?
Home Monitoring (or Remote Monitoring) for your Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device (pacemaker, defibrillator or loop recorder).
Remote Monitoring is proven to be safe and effective, offering convenience and improved care to patients.
Data is downloaded wirelessly from your device on a regular basis and the information sent to the pacemaker technicians at Flinders Private Clinic who will consult with your treating doctor, and necessary changes to treatment or programming can be made without delay. It is easy to set up and requires little input from you.
Please note that although your device can be continuously monitored, data will be assessed Mon-Fri during working hours.
It is important to remember that remote monitoring only looks at device
function and heart rhythm, so is NOT an alternative to seeking medical attention if feeling unwell.
