Dr Kathryn Waddell-Smith
MBBS, PhD, FRACP
Dr Waddell-Smith completed five years of clinical and research fellowship, including a PhD, in Auckland (NZ) and Cambridge (UK), after training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre.
Kathryn practices general cardiology and aims to provide personalised medical care of excellent quality to each of her patients in a supportive, friendly manner.
Her special interests include caring for those affected by familial conditions such as; long QT syndrome, Brugada syndrome and CPVT; hypertrophic, familial dilated and arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathies; familial hypercholesterolaemia; aortopathies; Fabry’s Disease and cardiac vasculitis.
Dr Waddell-Smith is a Cardiologist at Flinders Medical Centre (where patients can be referred to address the genetic aspect of their inherited cardiac condition), a Senior Clinical Lecturer at Flinders University and is the Chair of the Cardiac Society Australia and New Zealand Genetics Council. She is well published in peer-reviewed international journals, is actively involved in research and enjoys teaching at all levels.
