Prof Philip Aylward

Professor Aylward is the Director of the Division of Medicine, Cardiac and Critical Care Services of the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network. He graduated from Medicine at Oxford University and completed post graduate training in the U.K. and at Flinders Medical Centre. He did a clinical and research fellowship in the United States. He became a Staff Specialist in Flinders Medical Centre in 1986.

Dr Cameron Bridgman

Dr Bridgman is a Staff Specialist and Director of Cardiology Training at Flinders Medical Centre. His subspecialty interest is cardiac imaging with a particular focus on echocardiography and cardiac MRI. He has a particular enthusiasm for imaging valvular and congenital heart disease.

Dr Christine Burdeniuk

Dr Burdeniuk trained at Flinders University after completion of a Bachelor of Science at the University of Adelaide. She completed her cardiology training in 2007 and has completed advanced training in Heart failure.

Dr Fahd Chahadi

Dr Chahadi is a cardiologist and Electrophysiologist. He completed his cardiology training at the Austin Hospital in Melbourne followed by three year fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at Flinders Medical Centre.

Associate Professor Carmine De Pasquale

Dr De Pasquale completed his under graduate degree at the Flinders University in 1992 graduating with Honours. He worked in Critical Care prior to completing his physician training specialising in Cardiology in 2000. He then completed his PhD in 2003 studying the effects of heart failure on the lungs. In 2003 he undertook a Clinical Fellowship in Heart Failure at the St Vincent‟s Hospital, Sydney.

Dr Suchi Grover

Dr Grover completed medicine from University Auckland in 2003 and completed her specialization in cardiology at Royal Adelaide hospital in 2009. She has completed her PhD in 2014 through Flinders University. Her PhD included studies on identifying early predictors of cardiac damage in chemotherapy cardiotoxicity, study of myocardial oxgygenation in chronic LV dysfunction and utilizing imaging biomarkers in myocardial infarction to predict late function recovery.

Dr Andrew Hamilton

In 2002, Dr Hamilton gained a PhD in atherosclerosis imaging and early detection of coronary artery disease from Northwestern University in Chicago. In 2003 he was then recruited back head echocardiography at Evanston Northwestern Healthcare and in 2006 then became the Head of Cardiovascular imaging and Medical Director at the University Of Texas in Houston prior to returning to Adelaide in 2008.

Dr Andrew Markwick is a Consultant Cardiologist with a particular interest in coronary intervention. Andrew graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2004 before completing physician and cardiology specialist training across Royal Adelaide Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre, Alice Springs Hospital and Royal Darwin Hospital sites.

Dr Joseph was trained at the University of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia. He did an advanced Cardiology Fellowship in Echocardiography at the University of Toronto, Canada and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians.

Dr. Judd completed her medical undergraduate degree at Flinders University, following a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Adelaide. She continued her Basic and Advanced training in Cardiology at Flinders University.

Professor Andrew McGavigan

Dr McGavigan graduated from the University of Glasgow in the United Kingdom and undertook postgraduate studies both in the UK and Australia. In 2003, Dr McGavigan completed a Doctorate of Medicine (MD), which was conferred by the University of Glasgow. He then completed training in cardiac electrophysiology at Glasgow Royal Infirmary in the United Kingdom and the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia, prior to taking up post as a Staff Specialist at Flinders Medical Centre in 2007.

Associate Professor Minson was trained at the University of Adelaide and gained his PhD at Flinders University of SA. He is a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Flinders Medicine, Flinders University of South Australia.

Dr Ranjit Shah

Dr Ranjit Shah is a clinical cardiologist with a special interest in echocardiography, valvular heart disease, and heart failure. Having graduated in Medicine from the University of Calcutta (India), he studied for 2 years in the UK and then moved on to Australia where he completed his Basic Physician Training and Advanced Training in Cardiology from The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (2014).

Dr Cuong Nguyen

Dr Cuong Nguyen graduated from the University of Adelaide and initially trained in internal medicine at the Queen Elizabeth and Lyell McEwin Hospitals, South Australia. He completed his Cardiology Training at the Launceston General and Royal Hobart Hospitals in Tasmania and was awarded his Fellowship to Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2007. Following this he undertook subspecialty training with a two year clinical Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the Launceston General Hospital and Westmead Hospital, Sydney.

Professor Joseph Selva-Nayagam

Prof Selvanayagam graduated from the University of Adelaide and then specialized in internal medicine and cardiology at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre. He completed a DPhil (PhD) in 2004 at the Dept of Cardiovascular Medicine, University of Oxford. His thesis focused on the use cardiac MRI to characterize heart muscle injury in patients with coronary artery disease and heart failure. Most recently, he was an honorary consultant cardiologist and research lecturer at the John Radcliffe Hospital, University of Oxford, Oxford, UK.

He trained at the Royal Hobart and Royal Adelaide hospitals, completing Cardiology specialist training at the Flinders Medical Centre in 1996. He has spent the last 13 years building up an extensive clinical Cardiology practice in the southern metropolitan and south-eastern country areas of South Australia as well as a Population Health and Health Services cardiovascular research program at Flinders University.
